Kyndof Celebrates Parents’ Day with a Touch of Korean Tradition and Appreciation
At Kyndof we believe that behind every dedicated team member is a family who has supported, encouraged, and stood by them. That’s why this year, we took time to honor Parents’ Day (어버이날) — a meaningful celebration in South Korea that falls on May 8th.
The Tradition of Giving Carnations
In Korea, Parents’ Day is a time to express deep gratitude toward mothers and fathers — not just individually, but as a collective gesture of family appreciation. One of the most beloved traditions is giving red and pink carnations. These flowers symbolize love, respect, and admiration. In Korean culture, they’re seen as a way to say “thank you for raising me” — a simple but heartfelt message through nature’s most expressive gift.

Our Team’s Celebration
To honor this special day, we prepared handmade flower gift boxes, each carefully arranged with carnations and wrapped in a bojagi (보자기) — a traditional Korean wrapping cloth that adds elegance and cultural meaning. The wrapping itself represents care, protection, and beauty.
We also shared traditional Korean tea alongside hodu-gwaja (호두과자) — soft, walnut-shaped pastries filled with sweet red bean paste. These treats are a beloved part of Korean snack culture, especially during holidays or meaningful gatherings. Incorporating them into our Parents’ Day celebration added a warm and thoughtful touch, allowing our team to reflect on the values of appreciation and connection that this day represents.

Team Reflections and Reactions
The most touching moments were the messages we received after sending the handmade gifts, created by our team, to our parents.
“I’m truly moved that you personally crafted such a beautiful flower box,”
“Even just seeing the photos, I can feel the warmth behind it,” said one of our team member’s parents.
Our team members also shared their reflections, saying, “This was a wonderful opportunity to express feelings that we don’t usually get to say out loud.”

Why it Matters?
In the rush of deadlines and meetings, it’s easy to overlook the people who support us behind the scenes. Celebrating Parents’ Day as a team was a meaningful reminder to appreciate those foundations — and to recognize the role family plays in our personal and professional lives.
At Kyndof, we believe that building a strong company means valuing not just the work we do — but the people who make it possible.
