(Seoul = December 5, 2024) The 2nd Fashion Design Contest & Awards hosted by 2000Archives, a representative fashion brand of Korea and operated by Kyndof Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Seon-bin), was held successfully under the theme of ‘Sporty Couture’. This competition, which competes the creativity and technical skills of new designers, received a great response by providing opportunities for real growth beyond simple competition.

The contest began with a preliminary round where over 100 applicants competed fiercely. The participants were judged on their creativity and 10 were selected to advance to the finals. The participants came from major universities in Korea such as Korea University, Kookmin University, Hansung University, Ewha Womans University, and Hongik University, and they had a wide range of academic backgrounds from bachelor’s to master’s degrees in various fields such as fashion design, textiles, and MBA, adding to the competitiveness of the contest.



The finals took place at the 2000Archives headquarters, and the 10 second-round finalists were given a time limit to showcase their skills. The contestants presented fashion illustrations on the theme of “Sporty Couture” for 45 minutes, and then demonstrated their design skills through schematic work for another 45 minutes. After the competition, they were given the opportunity to receive immediate feedback from a panel of expert judges to further enhance the quality of their work.

The grand prize went to Baek Gook-hyun, a student in the Department of Fashion Design at Kookmin University, and he was awarded 100 million won in prize money, a scholarship, and a certificat. In addition, the winners from 2nd to 4th place were given the opportunity to intern at 2000Archives, a special opportunity to gain practical experience.

Kim Seonbin, CEO of Kyndof Inc., which operates 2000Archives, said in an interview after the event, “We planned this contest to narrow the gap between the theories learned in school and the skills required in the field,” and “We wanted to provide participants with practical growth and experience beyond simple competition.”

He continued, “Kyndof is not only focused on creating brands, but also on building the infrastructure of the brand industry and raising the level of the entire industry. We hope that these efforts will lead to the discovery of more new designers and strengthening the competitiveness of the Korean brand industry.”

The judges for this competition were comprised of key figures from 2000Archives and industry experts. The judges, including Creative Director Hong Daeun, Lead Designer Cho Seungyeon, and Atelier Manager Kim Kangmin, highly praised the passion and creativity of the participants. The judges emphasized the significance of the competition, saying, “This contest will provide young designers with practical experience and a stepping stone for growth.”

The 2000Archives Fashion Design Contest is positioned as a platform that provides practical experience and networking opportunities to emerging designers beyond simple competition. 2000Archives plans to regularize this event to lead the continuous development of the Korean fashion industry and the cultivation of young talent.
