Interview with 2000 Archives Intern Elenore

Elenore, you packed your bags and flew halfway across the world from Belgium to Korea for this internship. What was the moment you knew this was the adventure you had to take ?

I remember talking about this project with my dad as a joke, but when we got to organise a call with Seonbin-nim and Daeun-nim is when realised it was a once in life oportunity and that i had to work i hard as i could to catch it !

Your whole family hopped on a plane with you to Korea. How did having your personal cheer squad on this journey affect your experience? Any fun family moments you want to share?

Having my parents and my sister with me throught this with me was probably why everything went this smooth. It was defenetly a plus for me to be welcomed by them in our hotel room everyday and be able to tell them about my day to express all the emotions i was going through each day !

You stayed in a hotel literally in the same building as the office—no commute, no problem! How did that influence your daily life? Did you ever feel like you were living in a work bubble?

One of the best thing about living in that hotel was my sleep schedule … In result of the big jetlag we were going through, sleeping a little bit more every morning felt very beneficial. Of course the proximity helped me alot, for example, knowing that i could go back anytime to grab something that i forgot was super cool, no stress ! I somehow managed to create my work bubble and my own little routine wich i really loved !

You dived headfirst into the 2000Archives x Jaded London project. What was your “wow, this is gonna be huge” moment, and how did you put your stamp on it?

A few days before the event, Daeun asked me if I wanted to invite an influencer I knew to the event. I told her that it would be awesome if I could invite one of my favorite influencers, @Cheristyle_. And she replied that she had already agreed to come! I don’t think I realized how big and awesome the event was until that conversation.

We hear you had a key role in the Jaded London collaboration. Spill the tea—what’s the one contribution you made that you’re secretly (or not-so-secretly) super proud of?

I don’t know why but while i was in korea my personality changed a lot. I became more extroverted and wasn’t afraid to communicate whith stanger wich i usually am. So if i had to reveal something i am the most proud of, it would be the contact i dared to create with persons i considered as very impressive such as inflencers and creators ! (The contribution i am secretly proud about is the hundreds of keychains i peeled haha ! Wich i weirdly really enjoyed doing ;))

So, you became besties with MOON, the famous rapper—no big deal, right? How did that friendship start, and what was it like creating content with her for 2000Archives?

It was so nice meeting her ! We were casually talking with Seonbin-nim and my dad in the VIP room at the 2000Archives x Jaded London when i saw her enterring the room haha ! I directly went up to her to tell her how i like her and we decided to go out in a greate restaurant two or three days later ! I hope i will see her quick when i come back to Korea !

Tell us about the MOON collab. What was the vibe like working with her, and how did your collaboration reflect the 2000Archives brand?

This collab really felt like a bowl of fresh air. I had the opportunity to speak french with her and her stylist (wich is also from Belgium !) after speaking full english at work. It was super chill, super cool. I loved how the 2000 team let me explore this experience alone while keeping me aware of everything to make sure it was working smooth. I am very greatfull of them :,)

You crushed it during your internship, even though it was short. What do you think was your secret sauce for making such an impact in such a short time?

Thank you for these compliments but did i really haha ? At the beginning of this internship, i was scared to say or do things that could hurt either the Korean culture or the team members directly, at the end of the day i think that the secret sauce is to ask as much questions as you can while respecting you supervisor’s planning. Let them know that you really are interested in their job. I tried my best to let them feel how motivated i was and how much i wanted to make this work, i really am hoping that’s how they percieved it !

Every adventure has its challenges. What was the biggest curveball thrown your way during your internship, and how did you knock it out of the park?

My biggest challenges was probably the langguage. I felt bad for not knowing enough Korean (next time i’ll come to korea, i will try my best to speak a better korean !). Even tho the team spoke perfect english, i was scared of not being able to communicate easily. I never had to speak this much english in such a circumstance so that was also very scary.

Coming from Belgium, you brought a fresh perspective to 2000Archives. How did your European roots shape your contributions to the team ?

I think having another point of view of the influencers industry was my biggest contribution during this internship. I could bring new influencers throught working on finding influencers that we could collab with and new fashion styles to the team. I hope this will continue and that 2000Archives will soon be more worldwild known !

The 2000Archives x Jaded London project was a huge success. What’s the one lesson or skill you picked up that you’re excited to take with you into your fashion future?

During this event the main skill i discovred was (as i already talked about) making contacts. I realised that the fashion/influence world was 100% based on who you know, not who you are, i could start conersations by just saying that i knew the 2000 team. I had the chance to exchange with so many new persons that had the same passion as me, i hope we can catch up soon and why not maybe work togheter somedays !

The team culture at 2000Archives is pretty unique. How did that culture influence your work, and what did you love most about being part of this team?

I think that the 2000 team is the perfect team anyone could dream of. We could go eat together but also have our own free time, i could ask questions as much as i wanted without feeling judjed, we could have fun but also have serious times to really focus on our work and i could try on speaking Korean without any shame. I never felt left out of the team, even now, they are still making me feel integrated in the team even tho i am not in Korea anymore. I hope i can one day find or create a team like this.

Guidance from a supervisor can make or break an internship. How did your supervisor support you during your time here, and what impact did that have on your growth?

My supervisor’s defenetly helped me a lot. I always felt relaxed around them and always felt good. They always made sure i was okay wich i really appreciate, Thank you so much to the team for that.

Now that your internship is wrapping up, what’s next for you? Any exciting future plans in the fashion world that you can share with us?

Of course ! I am now planning on going to Yonsei University for about 6months in korea all alone ! It as always been my dream to study abroad so i am so happy that this project is on the way to reality. I hope i can work again with 2000Archives while i am there to experiences more and more and to create new beautiful memories.
