Last Monday, Kyndof had the pleasure of welcoming three new team members to our growing work group. Unlike our previous onboarding events for new interns, this time we wanted to make things a bit different and more personal. Therefore, we gathered everyone for a casual gathering with snacks and drinks, celebrating the arrivals of Jaehee and Kanmin to our Design team, along with Dongjae, our new Supply Chain Manager.
A Warm Welcome with Team Introductions
The day kicked off with our daily stand-up meeting, but this time the whole 2000Archives team was present: each team member and intern introduced themselves and shared the projects they are currently working on. This gave our newcomers a chance to learn about the ongoing work of their colleagues. Not only did it make the newbies feel included, but it also gave them clarity on who they could reach out to for specific assistance or information.
Speed Talking: A Fun, New Way to Build Connections
After the introductions, we switched things up with a fun and interactive activity we’ve never done before: Speed Talking. Inspired by the concept of speed dating, the goal was to provide a quick and enjoyable way for team members to connect one-on-one. Interns were paired with permanent Kyndof team members for two-minute conversations, allowing everyone to get to know each other on a more personal level.
Even though the conversations were brief, they helped build meaningful connections by giving everyone a chance to share something unique about themselves, such as interesting hobbies or personal experiences. The quick exchanges allowed us to bond over common interests, making it easier to connect beyond the usual work-related discussions.
Kyndof: A Global Team Sharing Cultures and Ideas
At Kyndof, we are fortunate to have a diverse team, with teammates from various parts of the world. This provided a great opportunity for our new members to not only learn about the company culture but also get a glimpse into the rich cultural backgrounds of their colleagues. Conversations about languages and personal experiences turned out to be some of the most engaging moments of the day.
Some teammates even found creative ways to overcome language barriers—whether through teaching each other phrases in their native languages or using translation tools to keep the conversation flowing. It was inspiring to see how everyone worked together to bridge any gaps and make the experience both fun and enriching.
Strengthening Our Team Spirit
While the speed talking sessions may have felt a little awkward at first, it quickly became clear that this unique icebreaker was a great way to foster closer relationships within our team in just a short amount of time. The event was not only enjoyable but it also created a space where everyone could learn from each other and grow closer as colleagues.
We’re excited to incorporate this activity into future onboarding events and look forward to using it as a tool to continue building a strong, connected team here at Kyndof. We believe that welcoming new people in such a personal and fun way is a great step toward nurturing a positive, collaborative atmosphere for everyone.
