From Fan to Friend: How a Belgian Intern at 2000Archives Got to Know a Rapper She Once Idolized
Interview with Elenore, 2000Archives Intern
Elenore, you flew halfway around the world from Belgium to Korea for this internship. When did you decide this adventure was something you absolutely had to do?
I remember joking about this project with my dad. But when a call was scheduled with Sean (CEO of Kyndof) and Daeun (Creative Director of 2000Archives), it started to feel real. After that conversation, I knew — this was something I had to do.
What was it about 2000Archives specifically that drew you?
The aesthetic, of course — but also the energy. 2000Archives doesn’t feel like a conventional fashion brand. It feels alive, constantly evolving. I wanted to be part of that.
You mentioned you were a fan of one of the artists 2000Archives collaborated with. How did that actually play out during the internship?
It was surreal! I had followed this rapper’s music for years before coming to Korea. Then one day at the office, he just walked in for a fitting. I had to play it very cool — but inside I was completely starstruck. Over the weeks, we actually got to know each other a bit, and now I can honestly say we’re on friendly terms. It still feels unreal.
What was the most challenging part of working in Korea as an international intern?
Definitely the language. My Korean was very limited when I arrived. The team was incredibly patient, but there were moments — especially in fast-paced meetings — where I felt a real disconnect. It pushed me to study harder and pay much closer attention to context and non-verbal communication.
What did you work on during your time at 2000Archives?
I was involved in several aspects of the design process — from research and mood boarding to assisting with fittings and sample reviews. I also contributed to content creation for the brand’s social media. It was much more hands-on than I expected, and I learned so much.
What would you tell someone considering an internship at 2000Archives?
Do it. Come prepared to work hard, be humble, and throw yourself into the experience. Korea is intense and fast-moving, but if you’re open to it, it will change you. And 2000Archives is a genuinely special place — the creativity, the drive, the people. I left a different person than when I arrived.
