2000Archives has revealed its 23 FW collection, built around corsets in new materials and five new printed stocking patterns, staged against avant-garde canvases by painter Dashka Monashka.
2000Archives, the Korean designer brand that has consistently worked in European vintage, sensuality and kitsch, has revealed its 23 FW collection. The season centers on the corset pieces that have become the label’s signature item, using them to lay out the surreal world 2000Archives has built.
The released images show pieces that alter the details of its existing corset designs as well as, fittingly for the fall-winter season, corsets with hoods attached. A shearling corset and a corduroy corset extend the range, showing the brand’s main item reworked through a variety of materials. A shearling jacket and shirred pants in a camouflage pattern offer a glimpse of the idealized sensuality the brand pursues. The printed stockings that have been with 2000Archives since its early days also gain five new patterns.
The avant-garde canvases in the background were made with the painter Dashka Monashka. Panels that feel grotesque and avant-garde while also being colorful heighten the appeal of this season’s theme: an imagination that makes you forget reality, and a surreal space. Once again 2000Archives catches the eye with a boldness not seen before.
