Kyndof's 2000Archives Wins Industry Minister's Award at the K-Fashion Audition

2000Archives, operated by Kyndof, won the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy's silver award at the 2025 K-Fashion Audition, along with 10 million won in commercialization funding.

2000Archives, the women's fashion brand operated by Kyndof, has won the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy's award (silver) at the 2025 K-Fashion Audition. The competition is regarded as a gateway for Korean fashion startups and the most prestigious contest of its kind, and 2000Archives came through odds of several hundred to one, gaining formal recognition for its creativity and its potential to grow globally.

Judges gave high marks to the design philosophy the brand presented at the audition. 2000Archives reinterprets 2000s fashion culture through a contemporary lens, and rather than simply repeating the trends of the past as retro, it combined the energy of that era with a present-day sensibility to create a new style.

Behind the brand's rapid growth is its product strategy. Its signature items, football T-shirts and printed tights, became 'must-have items' immediately after release, reaching beyond the MZ generation to idols and global influencers. An accessories line created through collaborations with a range of brands has become a key driver for expanding the brand's world.

Its distribution does not stop at home. Based in Seoul, 2000Archives has built distribution networks across some 20 countries, including Japan and Europe. It is rare for a Korean startup brand to secure both real revenue and recognition in overseas markets in such a short period.

The 10 million won in commercialization funding that comes with the award will go toward strengthening the business. Kyndof plans to use the money to reinforce its new product lineup and to optimize marketing and logistics systems aimed at expanding global market share.

Hong Da-eun, creative director at Kyndof, said, “We are glad that the design philosophy we have pursued has been recognized externally,” adding, “We will grow into a leading name in K-fashion that proves its competitiveness while keeping a distinctive identity in markets worldwide, rather than a brand that simply follows trends.”

The industry views the award positively but also notes that securing sustainability amid fast-changing fashion trends will be the challenge ahead, and that with the Y2K boom past its peak, how the brand varies its own archive will decide its long-term success. Kyndof plans to use the award to raise brand awareness and to further solidify its position in the global fashion market through aggressive collection expansion and strategic collaborations.
