2000Atelier

Stagewear Concept Designer

The first to draw an artist's stage image, through concept, silhouette, color and detail. Open to full-time, freelance and project collaboration.

2000ATELIER / JENNIE · SOLDIER FIELD, CHICAGO

We're looking for someone to design the first scene of the next stage.

The silhouette that reads first under the lights, proportions that come alive with movement, color and detail that carry the artist's attitude. At 2000Atelier, the Stagewear Concept Designer creates that first image.

JENNIE's solo stage in Chicago and the looks for the BLACKPINK DEADLINE world tour both began as a single sketch in our Seoul studio. Here, your drawing can be on a real stage within a week.

What you'll do

  • Read the artist and the stage brief, and propose the concept and visual direction of each look.
  • Make ideas clear through mood boards, design sketches and color and material references.
  • Design everything from the presence of a solo look to the harmony of a group and each member's individuality.
  • Develop proposals through feedback, and work with the development team so the design intent survives to the end.

Patterns, sewing and production are handled by the development designers and the making team. You focus on what to design.

Who we're looking for

  • A portfolio that shows your own sense of silhouette, proportion and color
  • You don't stop at collecting references; you propose the next image with your own designs
  • You can make your intent concrete with the tools you know, whether sketches, illustration or digital mock-ups
  • You can explain the reasons behind your choices convincingly to the team

Nice to have

  • Visual design work in fashion, stagewear, costume or a related field
  • Experience with materials that read strongly on stage, such as leather, metallics and fur
  • Work that answers each artist and song differently rather than repeating one aesthetic

Hands-on garment-making experience helps but isn't required. We look at the quality of the work and your contribution, not years of experience.

How we work together

  • Full-time Join the studio and create stages for many artists, season after season.
  • Freelance Work with us project by project.
  • Project collaboration Keep your current work and join the projects that fit.

Tell us how you'd like to work and when you're available, and we'll find the arrangement that fits best.

How to apply

  • Your portfolio. It helps to show how a concept developed, not just the finished images.
  • Your role on each project
  • How you'd like to collaborate and when you could start

For work you can't share publicly, walking us through the process and your role is enough.

If your strengths are in materials, tech packs, fittings and production, see the Atelier Development Designer opening.
