So that good design is finished on stage.

For a great sketch to become a great garment, someone has to choose the materials, solve the construction and read what changes at the fitting. At 2000Atelier, the Atelier Development Designer owns that finish, between design and making.

From JENNIE's patchwork leather look in Chicago to pieces for the BLACKPINK DEADLINE world tour, you make sure the design intent still reads when the garment is worn and moving.

What you'll do

• Review design sketches and briefs, and define the construction, materials and wear conditions needed to realize them.
• Research and source fabrics and trims, and propose alternatives with weight, stretch, thickness and surface in mind.
• Turn details, measurements, materials and finishing into clear tech packs.
• Lead samples and production schedules with the pattern, sample and sewing team.
• Check silhouette, range of movement and comfort at fittings, and set the direction for revisions.
• Make sure, right to the end, that the finished garment carries the design intent.

This is not a sewing role. What matters most is the judgment to communicate precisely with the pattern and sample team and solve problems as the garment is made.

Who we're looking for

• Hands-on experience in garment design development or running samples and production
• Enough understanding of fabrics, trims and garment construction to decide how something should be made
• You write clear tech packs and fitting notes, and get in sync with makers quickly
• You anticipate priorities and schedule risks and share them with the team early
• You find good solutions between design intent and real production constraints

Whether it's the body of a denim piece, the stretch of a jersey or the balance of an asymmetric dress, you know what to check first as materials and construction change. Stagewear experience isn't required. What you've built in womenswear or custom garment development carries over here.
